Experience an unforgettable evening of world-class music as the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra presents Strauss & Schubert at the iconic Saenger Theatre.
🎻 Featuring Titus Underwood:
We are thrilled to welcome Titus Underwood, a Pensacola native and the Principal Oboist of the Nashville Symphony Orchestra, as the soloist for Richard Strauss’ Oboe Concerto. A trailblazer in the world of classical music, Underwood made history as the first Black oboist to receive tenure as a principal player in a major U.S. orchestra. His exceptional talent has graced the stages of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and now, he returns home to perform with our very own Pensacola Symphony Orchestra.
🎶 An Exquisite Program:
The evening’s program also features two stunning works:
- Strauss’ Serenade for Winds: A beautiful, melodic piece that showcases the orchestra’s wind section.
- Schubert’s Ninth Symphony, “The Great”: A masterpiece that brings grandeur and emotion, a fitting finale for a night of exceptional music.
